Arsenal! Top of the League?

Huh? I woke up this AM only to see all the desperate Arsenal fans tweeting "Top of the League!!!", "Top of the Table", "#1"... Oh wait... no... ManU is up 7-0 with Dmitar contributing 5 GOAAAAAAAAAALS at this point.

Meanwhile, reading between the lines, Arsenal exhibited the same crap defending and second half collapse as per usual for this side. After going up 2-0 and dominating the first 45 minutes of play, still gave up 2 second half goals to Aston Villa to make it a tight game at 3-2 heading into extra time. Jack Wilshere calmed the Goonar faithful with a stoppage time goal, ending it at 4-2. Soooo sorry Arsenal fans, you're top of the table chants lasted a whole 60 minutes before it was evident ManU was about to crush Blackburn, and your side still looked like KRAP.

The Special One Strikes Again

Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos BOTH (and I LOVE them both... seriously two of my favorite players in footy) picked up reds and were sent off Wednesday night in Real's 4-0 victory over Ajax. Both were given second yellows for time wasting late in the game. NOW they will miss the next (meaningless) game for Real against Auxerre as they have already qualified for the knockout round. However, this in the process will also wipe both players slates clean for the knockout round. Very suspicious here... Mourinho claims the ref was giving out 'funny yellows' and we should move on... HA! I love Jose! He is always one step ahead and always trying to elminate as much uncertainty as possible. This is why the man is a GENIUS! I wish he would come back to the EPL and manage my Reds. PLEASE JOSE! PLEASE!

Ribery is NOT having FUN at this party

Everyone should be familiar with Bayern Munich's demise this season. Last year in football, they set the world on fire, running away with the Bundesliga (again... GROSS) and advancing to the finals in the CL (only to fall victim to The Special One). This year is quite the opposite. Currently they are sitting 8th, 14 points off the league leader and they are looking to be headed for CL knockout rounds, but not before they blew a 2-0 lead in yesterday's match against Roma (GULP).

Now Frank "I love 18 Year old Girls" Ribery wants to let everyone know he is not having fun this season. He blames it all on the manager, Van Gaal, who is just ruining his good times. He doesn't wanna train, he just wants to have fun! Good idea Frank! I am sure your lack of form has nothing to do with your enjoyment out on the pitch or the minute you are getting. Rumor has it, Frank finally bought a mirror. That's why he is no longer having fun. DAGGER!

Hannibal to Miss 7 Games

Luis Suarez got an unprecedented 7 game ban for his recent outburst in an Ajax league game. By outburst I mean he tried to take a bite out of the guy's next. Maybe Hannibal the Cannibal isn't a good comparison. Maybe he has just been watching all those trendy new vampire shows. I bet he is a BIG Sookie Stackhouse fan and merely got distracted in his imagination.

Who knows? Either way I think 7 games sends a message to the rest of professional football: Don't bite. Punching/kicking/slapping is ok, but biting... over the line!

PWNT!

Arsene Wenger is really showing his frustration these days. His GOONARS side picked up ZERO points in this past weekend's DARBY match with Spurs AT HOME. Worse than that they blew a 2 goal lead in the second have. Dreadful. Pathetic. Suicidal. Panic has hit the old Highbury supporters and rightfully so in my mind. The team is almost like a feeder squad for the big clubs these days. The stars keep fleeing and the youngsters keep being brought up. Fabregas is as good as gone by the summer. Denilson/Nasri may be next. Even rumors of the GREAT NICHOLAS BENDTER are surfacing of a trip to the Bundesliga. (I know... .GROSS)

With all of this in mind, Arsenal faced a mighty Braga side on the road, a side they had beaten 6-0 at the Emirates earlier in CL group stage play. Cutting to the chase, they lost 2-0. OUCH! Granted they played very well most of the game, they couldn't finish and their defense was suspect at best AGAIN. This team is reeling. They may not finish Top 4 if Tottenham/Liverpool (who play this weekend) can get their crap together. Even BOLTON looks threatening now.

Mark it down. Arsene is going to peace to Barca this summer along with Cesc. Dark times for Arsenal are looming.

WELCOME BACK NIÑO

Fernando Who?

Fernando Torres had a welcome back party like no other this Sunday when the Blues came to visit Anfield. Two sublime first half goals led to Liverpool beating Chelsea 2-0. Fernando Torres is back! Watch out Prem League defenders! Although not quite 100%, you could tell that he was determined to make an impact on the pitch against Chelsea and that he did. It was a change in attitude from the Reds. Everyone seemed confident. The 4-4-2 with Kuyt up top worked perfectly. I wouldn't mind seeing the same side play at Wigan on Wednesday as well. I wouldn't even mind throwing N'Gog up top with Fernando. Either way I think he needs another striker in support so that he is not sitting out there on an island. Meireles, Gerrard and Lucas dominated the central midfield. Lucas looked as he did in Brazil's most recent friendly, dominant. I'm REALLY looking forward to the upcoming games. 3 points from Wigan... PLEASE!

THE BISSSHHHHH

3 Cheers for Hooper

Gary Hooper hit the treble in goals and Celtic cruised to another victory in the SPL. Yup - this league is truly a two horse race every year, but the football played by Celtic this weekend was truly inspiring. Good luck to everyone who tries to beat them the rest of the season. It's Rangers/Celtic from here on out. Should be fun to watch.

THE BISH IS BACK

NEWCASTLE GETS REVENGE

Newcastle is on a roll. Get Chris Hughton a new contract already! The guy has his troops playing some inspired football!

Andy Carroll added to his season goal tally (6 now) with a header past Fabianski and it was all that Newcastle would need. Despite a drubbing at the Emirates in their last trip during their Carling Cup tie, Newcastle pulled off a 1-0 league victory.

Arsenal's season now looks to be headed for a tailspin where as Newcastle sit in 5th place in the table, 2 points clear of their nearest opponent(s).

HOLY SH*T KEVIN NOLAN!

After getting their Toon asses blown up mid-week by the GOONARS at the Emirates, Newcastle was not at all seen as ready for their upcoming derby match with Sunderland. No way in hell anyone thought this would happen. I honestly couldn't believe the scoreline 34 minutes in. Kevin Nolan managed to put them up 2-0. A red card and 4 additional goals later left Sunderland fans on the verge of jumping into the Tyne after a dismal 5-1 defeat to the Toons. Seriously though, how can Sunderland fans even watch their next match? They should schedule a boycott. That was utterly pathetic. Newcastle, a former Coca Cola Championship side, after getting ROCKED midweek, managed to score 5 FREAKING GOALS?!??! Insanity. Fire someone up there.

A Modest Proposal

Stephen Ireland just got CALLED OUT by his boss, Gerard Houllier. To sum it up, Houllier said Ireland is a lazy pr*ck who thinks he is too good to play defense, hustle, or try hard in training. Pretty damning assessment from good old Gerard. I have to say though, I don't disagree with him. Stephen Ireland used to be one of my BOIS. I loved that guy when he played for Citeh pre-Sheik days back when they blew. Ever since he has been awful though. Out of form and just lackadaisical on the pitch. To make matters worse he doesn't play international ball since his controversy with lying about his Grandmother/Grandfather/
everyone related to him's death to get out of playing in a match. He really just needs games against tough competition and to get his act together.

I'm tired of this crap. I want you to be MY BOI again, Stephen. Get your SH*T together and play some good footy. Try hard. Be humble. Realize how many people would love to be in your position. You are gifted so do not waste that gift.

3 Points

MAXI! GOAL!

That was all that was needed for Liverpool. Somehow the Reds squeaked out a thriller at the Reebok with a fancy flick from an out of form Torres and a slightly lucky finish from Maxi Rodriguez.

Hodgson now has 6 points in 2 games. This week will be a tough test for the club. Napoli visits Anfield midweek for an important Euro UEFA clash. Then the Blues from the Bridge will make their way up north to Anfield. The thoughts of playing the number 1 club in the league given our current form is frightening. I just hope POOL can at least squeeze one draw out of these two games.
